Generation Press

Been looking through the work that has been produced by generation press, it's of such high quality and you can tell that what they stand for shows in there work.

One thing that bugs me though is, I WANT to produce this kind of work, i know of the techniques and process's that are used i know what kind of stocks are out there the only thing i dont have is the same facilitates that industry have or the budget. I understand that collage have facilitates where outcomes like this can be achieved but nothing to the standard of a professional printers. I also understand that going through the process help's a designer know more and think about what there doing but at the same time I dont understand why I need to produced a poorly embossed or poorly screen printed or poorly foil blocked bespoke edition piece of design. Surly then, this is then a piece of 'art' something that is produced as a one off.

Pffttttt. Amazing love the fast sharp movement and the 3d rendered stuff. I think i'm gonna have to play around with motion stuff in my spare time more getting used to using the camera etc I think if i specialized in it this year i would come out with a mediocre portfolio of work which is not what i want.

Thinking i need to go look at how guys like this do there stuff.

BOLD STUDIO

Looking for Boldstudio.co.uk and came across this there spanish bold. liked the concept of moving using arrows as type. Simple and works well.

Wedding Invite's

I have been asked if i can design some wedding invites. Thought I'd look around for contemporary wedding invites for some ideas. The brief has quite a short turn around and little budget so this will have to be considered. Quite impressed with the amount of modern well designed invites that are out there.

Really impressed with the 6th and 7th ones up, they have both be embossed and letter pressed.

Would love to do something like this but I think it would be hard to get this kind of production level done within the time allocated.

The design direction I have been given is Art deco, Navy/gold/cream.

Found this great assortment of letterheads from modern to vintage on this website. Gave me some interesting ideas for when designing the letterheads for the music record label brief.

Most are simple in layout and terms of functionality work well. However have embossing's and full colour bleeds which suggest's there was a much larger budget. As there would be little budget ( or in this case no budget) I think the best way to take for my letterheads and stationary would have to be simple, show case the brand and be functional.
